Pipeline Engineering Lead | Calgary, AB

TRS Staffing is seeking Lead Pipeline Engineers for our Calgary-based Fortune 500 company. You will be leading major domestic and international projects. This is a long-term Calgary based position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering execution for domestic and international pipeline projects across oil & gas, hydrogen, CO₂, water, and multiphase systems.
  • Oversee pipeline routing, hydraulics, materials selection, wall thickness design, stress analysis, and integrity assessments.
  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables and design packages.
  • Support project planning, proposals, and technical studies.
  • Manage technical and execution risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interface directly with clients and support construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • P.Eng. designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain registration.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Minimum 15 years of pipeline engineering experience, including large transmission pipeline projects.
  • Experience leading FEED and detailed engineering projects.
  • Experience supporting construction and commissioning phases.
  • Experience working directly with clients in technical leadership roles.
  • Experience in EPC, EPCM, or integrated project delivery environments.
Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.12, API standards, and applicable pipeline design codes.
  • Experience with:
    • Hydraulic and surge analysis
    • Pipeline routing and alignment development
    • Wall thickness and material selection
    • Crossing design
    • Pipeline stress analysis
    • Pipeline integrity and risk assessment
    • Constructability reviews
    • Cost and schedule considerations during design development
  • Working knowledge of pipeline construction methods and field execution practices.
