Pipeline Engineering Lead | Calgary, AB
TRS Staffing is seeking Lead Pipeline Engineers for our Calgary-based Fortune 500 company. You will be leading major domestic and international projects. This is a long-term Calgary based position.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering execution for domestic and international pipeline projects across oil & gas, hydrogen, CO₂, water, and multiphase systems.
- Oversee pipeline routing, hydraulics, materials selection, wall thickness design, stress analysis, and integrity assessments.
- Ensure technical quality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables and design packages.
- Support project planning, proposals, and technical studies.
- Manage technical and execution risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interface directly with clients and support construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- P.Eng. designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Minimum 15 years of pipeline engineering experience, including large transmission pipeline projects.
- Experience leading FEED and detailed engineering projects.
- Experience supporting construction and commissioning phases.
- Experience working directly with clients in technical leadership roles.
- Experience in EPC, EPCM, or integrated project delivery environments.
- Strong knowledge of CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.12, API standards, and applicable pipeline design codes.
- Experience with:
- Hydraulic and surge analysis
- Pipeline routing and alignment development
- Wall thickness and material selection
- Crossing design
- Pipeline stress analysis
- Pipeline integrity and risk assessment
- Constructability reviews
- Cost and schedule considerations during design development
- Working knowledge of pipeline construction methods and field execution practices.
