Suncor seeks an experienced Specialist Drilling Engineer for operating and future SAGD areas. You will solve challenging technical problems, deliver recommendations, and support safe, efficient outcomes. The position includes technical leadership, project delivery, and mentoring engineers, with potential expansion into completions engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver complex drilling engineering projects independently
Provide expert analysis and recommendations for drilling studies
Solve complex problems using comparative technical analysis
Coordinate projects and review deliverables for technical quality
Mentor engineers and guide assigned project personnel
Requirements:
Engineering or Applied Science degree, with 12+ years’ experience
Advanced engineering techniques and procedures competency
Experience across multiple projects or deep technical expertise
Knowledge of multiple engineering fields or supervisory experience
Ability to develop technology change management plans
Bring advanced drilling expertise, technical leadership, and sound engineering judgment to Suncor’s complex SAGD projects in Calgary.
