Customer Service Attendant – Yard

Location: 2345 Alyth Road SE, Calgary (on a bus route). Please note that Star Building Materials will be relocating to 292109 Prime Close, Rocky View County, AB (behind the Century Downs Racetrack/Casino in Balzac), which is not on a bus route.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ months of customer service experience, ideally in building materials retail
• Ability to operate a forklift and other power tools
• Satisfactory criminal record check
• Physically able to kneel, crouch, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Yard Supervisor, as a Customer Service Attendant – Yard, your responsibilities include assisting clients with order pickups and returns, ensuring excellent customer service, pre-packaging orders, and maintaining warehouse and yard cleanliness.

Your daily tasks will involve:

• Helping customers with order pickups and returns
• Conducting daily forklift inspections and completing assigned tasks
• Keeping the customer pickup area and warehouse organized and clean
• Verifying order accuracy concerning materials and quantities
• Loading/unloading products and rotating stock as needed
• Adhering to safety regulations and company safety programs
• Supporting other projects or duties as assigned

Work Conditions:

This role primarily involves outdoor work in the lumber yard during regular hours (7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday). The environment includes exposure to noise, equipment hazards, weather conditions, and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
