Position OverviewThe Grey Eagle Event Centre Ushers is responsible for welcoming guests attending events in the venue. The Ushers are to collect and scan tickets and/or bar codes to verify authenticity. Ushers are to provide assistance to our guests who may require directions to their assigned seats, restrooms and concession stands, and helping those with special needs (i.e. wheelchairs, walkers). Ushers are to give door checks or stamp, to attendees who are temporarily leaving the venue, and refuse admittance to guests who do not have a ticket(s), valid bar code(s) or pass(es).
Should attendees have seating disputes, or have concerns, Ushers are to provide quality solutions. Also, Ushers are required to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of guests, by adhering to safe work practices, at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills And Abilities
- Scan admission tickets and passes from patrons at entertainment events
- Greet patrons attending entertainment events
- Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color or date issued
- Guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency
- Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules
- Provide assistance with patrons’ special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs
- Verify credentials of patrons desiring entrance into backstage area and permit only authorized persons to enter
- Direct patrons to areas as requested (i.e. Restrooms, hotel, casino, etc.)
- Refuse admittance to undesirable persons or persons without tickets or passes
- Settle seating disputes or help solve other customer concerns
- Assist patrons in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights, if necessary
- Work with others to change advertising displays
- Manage inventory or sale of artist merchandise
- Manage information displays of event signs or posters
