Position: Lighting Artist for AAA Games at Blackbird Interactive
Join Blackbird Interactive as a Lighting Artist focusing on AAA game development. This remote-first position emphasizes real-time lighting expertise in crafting immersive sci-fi environments.

In this position, you will report directly to the Art Director and collaborate closely with design and tech teams. Your primary responsibility will be creating cinematic lighting schemes that enhance narrative and gameplay. Balancing art and technology, you’ll ensure scenes are production-friendly and visually stunning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold lighting standards and artistic consistency

• Coordinate with art leadership on project needs

• Craft cinematic lighting using proprietary tools

• Optimize setups for performance and clarity

• Create comprehensive documentation for lighting processes

Requirements:

• Proficiency with Unity or Unreal engine lighting

• Deep understanding of lighting principles and exposure

• Insight into cinematography and effective mood lighting

• Familiarity with P  workflows and rendering optimization

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
