Facilities Team Member - On Call; Beltline

Join a dedicated facilities team helping to keep a vibrant downtown church safe, clean, and ready for a wide range of community events. This on-call role offers flexibility, with shifts primarily in the evenings (typically 4–8 hours). You’ll play a key part in creating a welcoming, well-prepared space for staff, volunteers, guests, and members of the broader community. This role includes regular interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including people experiencing homelessness, with a focus on respect, care, and professionalism.
Responsibilities- Clean and maintain the church building to a high standard
- Set up and take down event spaces across multiple rooms, adapting quickly to changing needs and schedules
- Support safety and security during events and respond calmly to unexpected situations
- Ensure events run smoothly in line with booking and contract requirements
- Provide a welcoming presence, offering guidance and assistance to guests as needed
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external partners (including AV, sound, security, and performers)
- Physical capability for an active role in a large, multi-level facility (approx. 40,000 sq. ft., 5 levels), including:
- Lifting up to 20 kg floor-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder
- Lifting up to 8 kg overhead
- Carrying up to 15 kg and pushing/pulling up to 30 kg
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing stairs
- A friendly, approachable manner and confidence working with a diverse community
- A strong commitment to safety and following established procedures
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and be part of a team
