About this Position
About the RoleWorking within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation department, these are flexible positions whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. These positions will end March 31, 2027.
The Hockey Penalty Box Attendant will be a member of the Cougar Athletics Varsity Game Day Events Team. The position will be for the duration of the hockey season. The Penalty Box Attendant is responsible for managing the penalty box at all hockey games. The position also requires assisting with the set-up and tear down of varsity events, and supporting the Score sheet Attendant as well as the Announcer as needed.
Responsibilities- Assist with game day set up
- Collaborate with officials
- Communicate clearly and effectively with officials, coaches and team staff
- In a timely manner according to the rules open and close the penalty box door
- 12 - 18 months of related experience
- A strong knowledge of hockey
- Ability to work all shifts between Thursday - Sunday afternoons and evenings.
- Highly motivated individual who can work well independently and under pressure
- Clear and consistent verbal communication skills
- Strong focus and attention to detail
- Commitment to time management and punctuality
- Ability to open and close heavy door
- Ability to lift items of up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
Salary: $15.45 - $19.44 per hour
