We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Counter Sales based out of Surrey, BC location (3909A Manchester Road SE, Calgary AB).
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused professional to support both branch sales and warehouse operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring seamless daily operations-from assisting customers and processing orders to maintaining accurate inventory and coordinating shipments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to customer inquiries via in-person, phone, and email with professionalism and technical expertise
Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products, pricing, availability, and alternative solutions
Present alternatives and solutions considering pricing, specifications, compatibility, and availability
Provide reliable updates on product availability, shipment status, and delivery timelines
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely fulfillment and resolve issues
Help maintain an organized, stocked, and professional counter & storefront area
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and repeat customers
Support with shipping, receiving, inventory counts and maintain accurate system information
Uphold company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional branch presence
Perform other branch and counter-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in Industrial MRO, fasteners, components, or related environment is required
Strong customer service skills with a professional, positive attitude
Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools would be an asset
Clear and effective communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Solid problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Honest, dependable, and punctual with a proactive work ethic
Capable of following written instructions, safety procedures, and documented processes
Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel), and ERP/order entry systems
Working knowledge of business math including pricing, measurements, ratios, etc
