PositionSummary
The Event Presentation & Broadcast Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of live event presentation and broadcast operations for the Calgary Stampede Rodeo, Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races, Relay Racing, Parade, and other designated events. This role serves as a key execution leader, ensuring the successful delivery of world-class in-venue experiences and broadcast productions that engage audiences and meet organizational objectives.
As the operational lead for live event production, this position oversees event presentation, guest experience, technical production systems, broadcast delivery, production vendors, and crew management. The Manager ensures all productions are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while aligning with Calgary Stampede brand, operational, and partner requirements.
Acting as the primary liaison between broadcast partners, production vendors, event stakeholders, and internal departments, the Event Presentation & Broadcast Operations Manager fosters strong collaboration and seamless communication to deliver exceptional live events and broadcast experiences from concept through execution.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Event Presentation Leadership- Lead planning and execution of all in-arena and event presentation elements for Rodeo, Chuckwagon, Relay Racing and Parade programming.
- Develop and manage show flows, run-of-show documentation and event presentation schedules.
- Coordinate announcers, hosts, music, video boards, sponsor obligations and audience engagement elements.
- Ensure event presentation supports programming objectives while enhancing guest experience.
- Lead execution of all broadcast operations related to the Calgary Stampede's television and streaming productions.
- Coordinate broadcast requirements with network partners, production vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Manage operational delivery of broadcast agreements and production commitments.
- Ensure operational readiness for all broadcast productions.
- Source, contract and oversee production vendors, technical suppliers and broadcast service providers.
- Coordinate production crews, contractors, on-air personnel and technical specialists.
- Develop staffing plans and production schedules required to support event delivery.
- Foster strong working relationships with production partners to ensure operational excellence.
- Oversee technical requirements associated with broadcasts and event presentation.
- Coordinate camera locations, communications systems, video board operations, replay systems, broadcast infrastructure and production compounds.
- Identify and implement technical improvements that enhance operational performance and audience experience.
- Work closely with Park & Facilities Services to ensure production requirements are integrated safely and effectively within the Stampede venue environment.
