Job Overview:
Reporting to the Games Manager/Pit Supervisor/Pit Boss, the Table Games Dealer-Tainer functions within the regular Table Games environment and the dealer in the Pulse/electronic environment, both aspects are responsible for dealing games to guests in accordance with Alberta Gaming Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) Terms and Conditions while providing excellent and engaging customer service. When acting as the Dealer in the Pulse/electronic environment the Dealer-Tainer entertains and engages making Pulse an exciting place to play and be entertained.
This role is critical to the success of our business and always maintains a professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Dealer-Tainer
Acts as an engaging dealer and host, maintaining an exciting, fun and lively gaming experience to players.
Vigorously promotes marketing campaigns, department promotions, events, etc. while assigned Dealer-Tainer duty.
Assesses and responds to players in Pulse/electronic environment to ensure players are engaged and entertained.
Provides a more a player experience which focuses on entertainment gaming.
Completes and maintains the Responsibilities and Duties of a Table Games Dealer.
Ensures correct electronic opening, closing and games maintenance electronic activities are completed in Pulse Arena when commencing or ending shift.
Other duties as assigned or directed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Table Games Dealer
Welcomes guests to the table and deal games(card, dice, tile, etc.) as per AGLC Terms and Conditions.
Responds to guest issues and escalates as required.
Monitors chips and cash and ensures the integrity of the game.
Observes problematic guest behaviours and reports to the Supervisor as required.
Promotes and maintains the highest levels of integrity and customer service. Reports concerns to management reasonably immediately.
Great team player who exemplifies outstanding guest service, to both internal and external guests.
Develops, cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with guests, ownership, employees, the AGLC and the community and charitable organizations.
Ensures compliance with AGLC policies, as well as ACE Casino policies, procedures and requirements.
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
Ensures outstanding guest service by responding promptly to guest needs and requests for service.
Other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Experience
Minimum of high school education or suitable combination of education and experience.
Minimum six (6) months of dealing experience required in one or more of the following (but not limited to) games is considered an asset, inexperienced dealers may be considered:
Blackjack
Baccarat
Roulette
Experienced public speaking and ease of engagement (one to one or group) required.
Hospitality industry host, trade or industry show experience is considered an asset.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to speak fluent English is mandatory.
Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
Strong work ethic with ability to maintain professionalism and a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to verbally engage individuals and pivot to games while maintaining entertaining environment.
Knowledge of gaming controls.
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective table control, in terms of game speed, observation/engagement and protecting the integrity of the game.
Ability to maintain a minimum of 20 hands per hour.
Improve current dealer skills and improve/expand dealing portfolio when opportunities are available.
Recognition of signs of collusion or team play, angling, obvious misinterpretation, or manipulation of the house rules, breach of AGLC requirements, etc.
Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
Ability to quickly adapt conversation dependent on patron verbal and non-verbal feedback.
Craft and execute entertainment-based games dealing while maintaining full games integrity.
Excellent interpersonal skills, organized, with strong problem-solving skills.
