Position: Tax Manager - People Advisory Services, Mobility Tax
The opportunity
We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our People Advisory Services – Mobility Tax practice. Our People Advisory Services (PAS) practice provides high-quality compliance and advisory solutions to help our clients drive organizational success through human capital. Our practice is one of the world's largest and has talented and innovative professionals dedicated to teamwork and exceptional client service. People Advisory Services encompasses Mobility, Global Employment Tax Services, Total Rewards, HR Performance Improvement and Immigration services.
Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation and/or review of tax compliance products. The Mobility Tax services include Canadian and US personal income tax, compliance and advisory services; mobility policy design; executive compensation advice; employer tax advice; and global coordination. You’ll be part of a team with a wide variety of experiences and a supportive environment.
Your key responsibilities
Interface with clients and colleagues, located throughout the world, by phone, virtual meetings and in personAnalyze client tax data to determine appropriate and optimal Canadian and US filing positions, and provide tax planning advice to clientsReview US and Canadian personal income tax returnsManage the financials of client accounts by:
developing budgets determining resource requirements timely invoicing and appropriate revenue recognition monitoring financial metrics for optimal resultsProvide guidance to more junior colleagues on both tax technical and performance management skillsContribute to a flexible, stable, and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitudeEngage in tax technical research to support both compliance and advisory deliverablesLeverage cutting
-edge technology to maximize productivityUnderstanding and addressing client needs in an ever-changing mobility landscape, by offering integrated mobility solutions such as immigration, workforce advisory and payroll systemsSkills and attributes for success

A diploma or bachelor’s degree, ideally with an emphasis on accounting, finance or a related fieldThree or more years’ experience in US and or Canadian personal income taxEnrollment in or completion of a Canadian or US CPA or US EA is preferredExcellent knowledge of prevalent automated tax processing systems and current tax laws in an area of technical specializationExceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly ExcelWhat we look for
