Job Title: Commodity Tax Advisor

Location: Calgary, AB

Our client is seeking a Commodity Tax Advisor to join their team. As a Commodity Tax Advisor, you will be part of the Tax Department supporting compliance and advisory functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, proactive communication, and a strong commitment to accuracy, which will align successfully in the organization.

• Prepare and file commodity tax returns, including fuel tax, excise tax, sales tax, and GST/HST.
• Provide commodity tax advice to internal stakeholders to support business decisions.
• Assist in administering commodity tax compliance activities and respond to regulatory audit inquiries.
• Support data extraction and analysis to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline compliance processes and improve efficiency.

• Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least two years of Canadian commodity tax compliance experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP, including S4 HANA, is desirable.
• Experience with Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query is a plus.
