Commodity Tax Advisor

West Corp Solutions is seeking an experienced Commodity Tax Advisor to support our client in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of Canadian commodity taxes and will support both compliance and advisory activities, working closely with internal stakeholders and members of the commodity tax team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Calgary, AB

Monday to Friday, 8-hour days

Initial 12-month contract

• Prepare and file Canadian commodity tax returns, including fuel tax, excise tax, sales tax, and GST/HST
• Provide commodity tax advisory support to internal stakeholders across the business
• Support commodity tax team members in administering ongoing commodity tax compliance activities
  
  Assist with responding to regulatory audit inquiries, including data extraction and documentation support
• Work with internal systems and data sources to support accurate and timely commodity tax reporting
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tax compliance processes, reporting, and data management

• Post‑secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
• Minimum two years of Canadian commodity tax compliance experience
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience with SAP, including S/4
  
  HANA, is considered an asset
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query is considered an asset
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
