Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Tax Manager – Canadian Domestic Tax
, you will play a critical role in managing and advising clients on domestic tax matters, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic tax initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and review corporate and personal tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Provide expert tax advice on complex domestic tax issues, including planning, structuring, and compliance strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive solutions and strategic insights to optimize their tax positions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including audit and advisory professionals, to deliver comprehensive service offerings.
- Mentor and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Stay up to date with evolving tax laws and industry trends, ensuring best practices are applied in all engagements.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and contribute to the enhancement of tax-related workflows and methodologies.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying new service opportunities and contributing to client proposals.
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Canadian tax, with a strong background in compliance and advisory services.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and research software, such as Tax Prep, Case Ware, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client management skills, with the ability to present complex tax concepts in an accessible manner.
- A proactive and strategic mindset, capable of identifying opportunities and driving value for clients.
