Senior Trade Settlements Analyst – Contract
Our Calgary client is seeking a
Senior Trade Settlements Analyst to support their Investment Operations team through June, with a possible two‑month extension. The role ensures accurate and timely settlement of all public market trades and involves issuing settlement instructions to reduce financial and reputational risk. The analyst will also advise Portfolio Managers and Traders on settlement processes and help maintain operational efficiency across counterparties.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:Ensure accurate, timely settlement of all public market trades (Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, FX Spots/Forwards, Money Markets, Repos).Investigate and resolve trade breaks with brokers.Confirm all trades flow correctly to downstream systems, custodians, and prime brokers.Provide settlement expertise for new and existing products.Coordinate internal asset movements between custodians and prime brokers.Manage settlement and maturity of Repo/Reverse Repo transactions.Process collateral movements as directed by the Collateral Management team.Settle all FX trades and monitor GTSS for matching and confirmations.Support Front Office with Private Placement settlements.Maintain settlement instructions in CTM ALERT, SSCNet, and Trade Nexus.Develop and maintain SOPs for key settlement processes.Create manual trade and FX instructions when required.Set up new brokers and coordinate account documentation and settlement readiness.Your strengths include:Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field; CSC or CFA designation is an asset.4+ years of relevant experience in the investment industry.Strong understanding of financial markets, institutional asset management, investment regulations, complex strategies, and best practices for internal controls and processes.In‑depth knowledge of industry settlement practices and familiarity with a wide range of investment products.
