We are hiring for this position out of our Calgary office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About the role:
Peoples Group is seeking a dynamic Business Development Associate to join our Real Estate Finance team based in Calgary. This role focuses on CMHC-insured and conventional multi-family financing across Western Canada, leveraging an extensive Broker network and direct borrower relationships.

About you:
About the day-to-day:
Originate and underwrite CMHC-insured and conventional construction and term mortgages.
Support the development of internal credit submissions to Peoples Trust’s Credit Committee.
Guide and support Real Estate Associates, Analysts, and Coordinators.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Commercial Mortgage Funding team and external legal counsel to ensure efficient funding of all assigned loans.
Collaboration:
Partner with the Regional Vice President and Business Development Managers to drive the regional success.
Lead marketing and outreach efforts to grow the regional mortgage portfolio.
Coordinate with Credit Group to monitor portfolio performance, identify and manage problem loans, and review appraisals and environmental reports in line with credit policies.
Manage CMHC-insured construction loans to completion and term takeout.

About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.
