Government Relations Director Position

In Calgary, Alta Link is seeking a Government Relations Director passionate about public policy and strategic engagement. This full-time role focuses on leading and developing impactful government strategies that drive business success.

Reporting to the VP of External Affairs, you will oversee a team dedicated to aligning government relations efforts with organizational priorities. The position requires monitoring regulatory developments and providing high-level strategic advice to foster collaboration across various teams. Mentoring professionals while achieving shared objectives will be central to this impactful role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement government relations strategies

• Identify political risks and opportunities

• Ensure consistency in policy and external engagements

• Engage with industry leaders and regulatory bodies

• Mentor team members to enhance their skills

Requirements:

• 15+ years in government relations or political roles

• 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience

• Solid understanding of Alberta's regulatory environment

• Proven ability to influence executive decisions

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
