The City of Calgary is seeking a Planner 1 to manage the review of development applications and assist with policy preparation. Candidates should be studying for a recognized planning degree or have relevant experience in planning. Strong analytical and communication skills are paramount for addressing inquiries and presenting reports effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and assess development applications for city compliance
• Collaborate with interdepartmental partners on planning projects
• Present recommendations through detailed technical reports
• Facilitate negotiations and problem-solving efforts
• Participate in public consultations on planning issues
Requirements:
• Enrolled or graduated from an accredited planning degree
• Minimum 1 year of relevant planning experience recommended
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with planning laws and their applications
• Commitment to the integrity and values of The City
Contribute to impactful urban planning projects in Calgary as a Planner 1.
