Community Peace Officer Level 1

Be a vital part of the Special Areas Board as a Community Peace Officer Level 1 (Transport Officer III). Work in the field to uphold road safety and compliance in southeastern Alberta.

With responsibilities centering on commercial vehicle enforcement and community education, this role requires a proactive approach to safeguarding road infrastructure. You will liaise with local government, industry partners, and the public while conducting patrols in Special Areas 2, 3, and 4. Your background must include five years of prior Peace Officer experience and specialized knowledge in enforcement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce seasonal load restrictions and road-use regulations

• Coordinate compliance monitoring and permitting for vehicles

• Conduct patrols to ensure safe road practices

• Investigate and document compliance-related issues

• Assist in safeguarding public lands and facilities

Requirements:

• Five years in a Peace Officer role

• Eligibility for Level 1 Community Peace Officer certification

• Familiarity with enforcement systems and statutes

• Proven conflict resolution skills

• Completion of VALID PARE test
