Alberta Firearms Officer

Position: Alberta Firearms Officer Role
Drive safety initiatives as a Firearms Officer with the Alberta Chief Firearms Office. Focused on compliance, public awareness, and the thorough administration of firearms regulations in Calgary or Coaldale.

This full-time position requires an understanding of the federal and provincial firearms regulations. As a Firearms Officer, you will advise on eligibility, conduct inspections, and manage complex inquiries related to firearms safety and licensing.

Your role will significantly contribute to public safety and regulatory effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer the Canadian Firearms Program and related services

• Make recommendations on firearm licensing based on investigations

• Collaborate with law enforcement and various stakeholders

• Outline best practices for license applications and compliance

• Promote understanding of firearms regulations through education

Requirements:

• University degree in a relevant field, such as Public Policy

• Minimum of two years’ related experience in firearms regulation

• Knowledge of firearms safety principles and legislation

• Must hold a Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (R-PAL)

• Ability to analyze complex situations with discretion
