Position: Full-Time Firearms Compliance Officer
Join Alberta Justice as a Firearms Officer dedicated to ensuring compliance with firearms regulations. This full-time role encompasses critical functions in Calgary or Coaldale related to community safety and licensing.

The Alberta Chief Firearms Office seeks a detail-oriented individual to manage the federal Canadian Firearms Program. Your responsibilities will include advising on eligibility, managing inspections, and addressing inquiries for firearms licensing. Integral to public safety, this position emphasizes comprehensive understanding and proactive communication within the firearms community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee compliance with the Firearms Act in Alberta

• Conduct thorough investigations to assess licensing requests

• Engage with various firearms stakeholders for operational success

• Deliver public education on the responsibilities of firearm ownership

• Collaborate on developing policies and legislative frameworks

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree in Public Administration, etc.

• Two years of pertinent experience in firearms policy or regulation

• Strong grasp of the Firearms Act and related legislation

• Required possession of a Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (R-PAL)

• Proven ability to deal with confidential and complex issues
