Our consulting client is seeking a Bilingual Records Management Specialist (5+ years) to modernize corporate retention schedules within a federal Crown corporation environment
Join a multi-year initiative supporting a major Canadian federal Crown corporation in modernizing its corporate retention schedule. This role provides expert consulting support across the full records management lifecycle, partnering closely with the Records and Information Management Office (RIMO). The successful candidate will contribute to retention rule design, governance review, and change management activities that strengthen compliance with federal standards. This opportunity offers long-term engagement and visibility across an impactful modernization project.

Must Haves
5+ years of professional experience in records management
, information governance
, or archival supportActive membership in Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA) or ARMA InternationalKnowledge of Canadian federal legislation and regulations governing records retention and Library and Archives Canada requirementsFamiliarity with ISO
-1: and ARMA best practicesFull professional proficiency in English and French (written and verbal); able to conduct interviews and prepare documents bilinguallyProficiency with Google Workspace tools for collaborative workPost-secondary education in information management, archival studies, or related fieldNice to Have
Experience working with Canadian federal government departments or agencies on records and information management mandatesExperience supporting media industry organizations in the public or private sectorResponsibilities
Draft standardized retention rules including titles, descriptions, document examples, information owners, retention periods, triggers, and justificationsDesign and recommend logical organization of retention rules through consolidated or cross-functional approachesReview and provide recommendations on records management policies, directives, and governance frameworksConduct legislative and regulatory research related to retention period requirementsDraft change management and training plans supporting implementation of new retention schedulesDevelop training materials, guides, and videos for operational adoption
