Explore a full-time role as a Mining Lands Officer with the Yukon government, based in Whitehorse or Mayo. This position focuses on managing mineral exploration regulatory processes and engaging with diverse clients.
As part of the Mining Recorder’s team, you’ll coordinate responses to assessment recommendations and develop Decision Documents.
Your role also includes guiding the mining community in acquiring mineral titles, processing applications, and providing daily client service support. Candidates with experience in environmental assessment, project management, and Indigenous engagement are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate government responses to mineral exploration assessments
• Develop Decision Documents for project approvals
• Advise on acquiring and retaining mineral titles
• Evaluate and process applications for mineral rights
• Assist in daily operations of the mining recorder's office
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Experience in client service and regulatory documentation
• Skills in database management and research
• Knowledge of land or resource legislation is an asset
• Willingness to travel to Yukon communities
