This full-time role requires a thorough understanding of the National Plumbing and Gas Codes. You will inspect residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to identify compliance issues, provide expert advice, and enforce regulations. Moreover, strong communication skills are crucial as you liaise with architects, engineers, and the public, ensuring safety standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of various structures for code compliance
• Review plumbing and gas drawings for accuracy
• Enforce Safety Codes Act and relevant regulations
• Maintain records and produce inspection reports
• Participate in safety initiatives and audits
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or GED completion required
• Journeyman Plumber & Gas Fitter certification with 5 years experience
• Registered Safety Codes Officer with relevant qualifications
• Clear Criminal Record Check mandated by the city
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License required
Execute compliance inspections effectively to maintain safety standards within the municipality.
