- Position Title: Physiotherapist
- Position Type:
Multiple Positions Available – Permanent;
Full-time - Location: Opportunities available at any of the following Care Centres – Brentwood and Southwood.
- Hours of Work: Day Shift
- Union: Out of Scope
- Functions as a Therapeutic Services Program Supervisor responsible for the supervision/direction of department program assistants and coordination of programs offered by the Therapeutic Service Department.
- Maintains appropriate records of planned programs and attendance
- Completes Inter Rai MDS assessment elements as appropriate for the discipline.
- Participate in review of triggered of RAPS and development of resident care plan consistent with the Collaborative Care Model. Participate in outings and other special events
- Maintains equipment and supply inventory
- Documents care, programs, and interactions as required on the Resident’s health care record.
- Demonstrate respect to all customers, by working with them in a calm, courteous manner
- Completes the electronic Rehabilitation Assessment Screen.
- Responsible for completing Physiotherapy Assessment.
- Determine mobility status and ensure residents have appropriate walking aid(s) on admission.
- Reassess transfer status of residents as needed.
- Develop and implement physiotherapy programs to address deficits in physical functioning such as range of motion, strength, ambulation, balance, endurance, pain and musculoskeletal issues.
- Responsible for supervision of therapy assistants for aforementioned programs.
Responsible for documentation in accordance with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Intercare standards of practice.
Qualifications:- Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy is required
- Current registration with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a Continuing Care setting is preferred.
- Preference given to applicants with work experience related to Long Term Care.
- Preference given to applicants with training in programs related to rehabilitation, recreation, or nursing for health care workers.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers, i.e. residents, guests, and staff.
