The South Health Campus (SHC) has four key pillars of service:

These pillars are guiding the development and delivery of service to all patients and families successful candidate will work as a member of the South Health Campus Emergency Department Team. They will collaborate on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. They will provide leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness, injury and disability or supporting a peaceful death.
They will provide care throughout the life span, in all stages of health and complexities of illness. The successful candidate will be accountable to the public for their own practice, responsible for ensuring that their practice meets legislative requirements and the practice standards of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In this role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.
You will provide safe, quality patient and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
PLEASE NOTE:
Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment:

Required Qualifications
- Previous Emergency Department experience within past 3 years or at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience on an inpatient medical/surgical floor, within the last 3 years.
- Must be proficient with computer systems.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs, long periods of walking and standing.

- Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Current Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Current Certification in Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC).
- Current Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Current Certification in Emergency Practice Interventions and Care (EPIC).
- Graduate from Advanced Critical Care Nursing (ACCN) in Emergency.
