Advance your career as an Adult Genetic Counselor with AHS South in Calgary, specializing in cardiovascular genetics. This position offers a blend of patient-facing and virtual counseling services.
As a temporary 1.0 FTE Genetic Counselor, you will provide comprehensive genetic services at the Richmond Road Diagnostic & Treatment Center. Engage with a collaborative team while addressing the needs of adult patients with arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies. This role invites both new and seasoned professionals to contribute their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess genetic risk for patients and families
• Analyze and interpret complex genetic information
• Support families in understanding genetic implications
• Discuss prevention and medical management strategies
• Serve as an educator and resource for health professionals
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Genetic Counselling required
• Certification or eligibility with CAGC or ABGC
• Strong skills in analyzing genetic data
• Proven experience in collaborative environments
• Experience in high-quality genetic service delivery
