Seniors Care Companion

Join Optima Living as a Care Companion, directly enhancing the quality of senior lives in Calgary, Alberta. Support emotional and physical needs while promoting independence and dignity.

In this role, you will report to the Director of Care, assisting with daily activities that cater to residents' individual needs in a respectful manner. Your focus will include fostering meaningful relationships, participating in care planning, and ensuring residents’ comfort. This position is fundamental in maintaining a positive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including grooming

• Create engaging companionship through social interaction

• Support meal-related duties and ensure nutrition needs are met

• Document and communicate resident care observations

• Respond quickly to resident requests and emergencies

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent education

• At least one year in a care setting

• Food Safe certification is an asset

• Effective team collaboration skills

• Flexibility to work various shifts
