Become a Recreation Therapy Aide with Age Care in Chestermere, Alberta, and enhance resident well-being through recreation. Foster social connections and promote independence in a supportive setting.
As a Recreation Therapy Aide, you will support Age Care's mission by facilitating recreational activities that boost residents' engagement and improve their quality of life. This role involves maintaining essential documentation, actively engaging in program evaluations, and ensuring recreation supplies are safely managed. Flexibility to work various shifts throughout the week, including weekends, is essential to meet the residents' needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate engaging recreational activities for residents
• Document accurate resident assessments and care plans
• Collaborate in evaluating recreation program effectiveness
• Maintain equipment and supplies according to safety guidelines
• Be ready to work diverse shifts throughout the week
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies preferred
• Enrollment in a relevant program required
• Healthcare recreation services experience is an asset
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic care environment
