Role OverviewThe Health Care Aide provides essential support to clients who need assistance with basic daily activities such as bathing, eating, exercise, and personal hygiene. Aides also offer companionship, light housekeeping, and nutritious meal preparation, working primarily with seniors and individuals in home or facility settings.
Pay & SchedulePay starts at $18 per hour, based on experience.
Shift/Schedules:
Full time & part time hours with flexible schedules across Calgary in the North and South areas.
- Provide personalized care according to the client’s custom care plan.
- Communicate effectively with clients, office staff, and Nurse Managers.
- Collaborate with the client, family, and the Saige team to set and achieve common goals related to quality of life.
- Build solid working relationships with clients, families, and the Saige team.
- Monitor and report changes in health to the Nurse Managers.
- Document care via the mobile home care app.
- Assist with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, peri care, toileting.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by a Nurse Manager.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Perform light housekeeping and support transportation to appointments and outings.
- Provide companionship and social engagement.
- Health Care Aide Certification or equivalent education.
- Valid Health Care Aide permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
- Valid HCP/BLS CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search) dated within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain one.
- Drivers license and willingness to drive from home to home.
