The Counsellor 1 in the Early Years Counselling & Consultation (EYCC) Program works as part of an interdisciplinary team to collaboratively identify and address through counselling and psychoeducation the lagging skills identified for children 6 years of age and under and their families.
Qualifications- SSW, CYW or equivalent – Candidate to be registered with applicable regulatory college where applicable;
- 2 to 3 years practical experience working with children under the age of 6 years;
- Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online virtual counselling) would be considered an asset;
- If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care, as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset;
- Working knowledge and experience treatment planning;
- Experience facilitating psycho educational clinics and counselling to young children;
- Good communication and organization skills;
- Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
- Experience working with the Indigenous community is an asset;
- A Current Police Records Check within the last six (6) months;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, use of a vehicle and be insurable to drive in Ontario
