Help shape the future of medicine care in Alberta! Medicine Care Alberta, part of Acute Care Alberta, is seeking an individual for the role of Senior Analyst (SA) to provide technical expertise in providing consistent, timely, and accurate data to inform trauma care across the province.
You’re a strategic, systems thinking, analytical problem-solver who can spot and understand the patterns in the data. In this role, you’ll support leadership decision-making, help ensure efficient and effective use of resources, and identify emerging trends and opportunities for improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes. You’ll take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions as you provide analytics and help translate the raw data into actionable insights.
As this position is provincial in scope, this position’s location is negotiable and eligible for a remote/hybrid work arrangement within Alberta.
Has a Master’s degree in a data and analytics related field (e.g., health economics, mathematics, statistics, health sciences, epidemiology, etc.) and five (5) years of applicable experience
or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and eight (8) years of applicable experience. A combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.
Required Qualifications
Advanced data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, including data abstraction, validation, and quality assurance. Strong basic statistical skills and ability to develop, track, and interpret KPIs. Knowledge of the provincial trauma system and ability to apply system‑level understanding to data insights. Skilled at identifying data limitations and proposing solutions. High proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong critical thinking, creative problem solving, and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Demonstrated leadership and decision‑making ability. Experience supervising and coaching staff, supporting development, and managing team deliverables. Strong planning, prioritization, and workload‑management skills. Ability to lead change initiatives and conduct environmental scans for best practices. Skilled in improving processes to enhance efficiency and data quality. Excellent written and interpersonal communication, with ability to tailor data presentations to diverse audiences. Strong relationship‑building skills with internal, external, and clinical partners.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the inpatient environment in Alberta. Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS), Alberta Improvement Way (AIW), PROSCI ADKAR®, or equivalent Lean and Six Sigma certification considered assets.
