Recreation Therapist

Position: Recreation Therapist Needed at AgeCare
Make a difference in seniors' lives at Age Care as a Full Time Recreation Therapist. Focus on enhancing wellness through engaging recreational activities and individualized support.

In this fulfilling position, you will assess, plan, and implement recreation therapy tailored specifically for residents in a long-term care environment. Your commitment to promoting well-being will be essential as you help residents participate in suitable activities under the guidance of the Interdisciplinary Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess residents’ needs and preferences for recreational activities

• Create and adjust treatment plans for optimal engagement

• Communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary team members

• Guide Recreation Therapy Aides in facilitating activities

• Contribute to team meetings regarding resident involvement

Requirements:

• Completion of Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy

• Registration eligibility with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association

• Preferred experience in a health care setting, especially with seniors

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication

• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
