Health Care Aide

Overview

Hanna Health Centre is searching for a Health Care Aide to provide care in a medical inpatient acute care setting. The centre comprises a 24‑hour Emergency Department, a 12‑bed Acute Care ward, and a 61‑bed Long‑Term Care facility. This role expects an HCA who demonstrates genuine interest and respect for clients while delivering direct patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced environment.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support activities of daily living and deliver support services to patients (clients, residents) in accordance with care plans and facility policies.
• Assist nurses with routine care to meet patients’ hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
• Support organized activities and programs and observe and report on patients’ mood, health, and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting effective communication with patients and health‑care professionals.

  Until a new hire provides proof of HCA certification, they will be paid at the uncertified pay grade in accordance with the AUPE AUX Collective Agreement.

• Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta as a Health Care Aide.
• Proof of education or completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• Connect Care training (preferred).
• One year acute‑care experience within the last three years (preferred).
