Our programs are designed to support young children who may not be meeting typical developmental milestones. Providence provides the opportunity to enhance the health and development of children and their families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for working with young children to join our growing team as a full-time  Physiotherapist  in August 2026. This position will work in supporting children in a school-based program. The hours of work are 8 AM – 4 PM (Monday to Friday).

As a condition of Providence, all staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide valid police check with a vulnerable sector screening.

The ideal candidate

Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues, families, and other stakeholders

Brings a coaching mindset, with the ability to support, guide, and empower educators and support staff in implementing speech and language goals

Is flexible, curious, and creative, with the ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities in a classroom setting

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and treatments of a preschool to kindergarten age group.

Manage a caseload with a diverse and complex pediatric population and their families

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and monitor integrated, child-centred plans

Provide coaching and guidance to teachers and support staff to ensure the effective implementation of goals within the classroom environment.

Gather, interpret, and use data to inform treatment planning and monitor progress

Engage parents in planning, decision-making, and program implementation

Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment by building strong relationships with team members and supporting a culture of teamwork and respect.

Qualifications

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Master's degree program from a recognised university.

Registered member in good standing with the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta (CPTA)

Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate

Experience working as a Physiotherapist in pediatrics with demonstrated success working with children who may have behaviours or disabilities.

Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Must posses a valid class 5 driver's license and $2,000,000 liability insurance.

Must be willing to travel within Calgary areas.

Personal suitability

NOTE:

This position requires lifting and carrying demands that require the ability to bend at the waist, stoop, and twist frequently, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, the ability to carry and pull up to 50 lbs, and the ability to stand, walk, and sit frequently.
