Position: Pharmacy Assistant - Training Provided (12 Month Contract)

Position Summary
The  Pharmacy Assistant  supports pharmacists and technicians by preparing, packaging, and organizing medication deliveries with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring quality standards are maintained.

Your Day To Day

Ensuring accurate documentation of completed work as per policies and procedures

Preparing prescriptions by gathering data from nursing staff to be filled via dispensary software

Processing, adjudicating, dispensing, and filling prescriptions via Pacmed automation

Preparing creams, liquids, and other medication forms

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards

What You Bring To The Team

Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program

Working knowledge of pharmacy calculations

Visual acuity, numeracy, detail orientation, and manual dexterity suitable for handling strip packs, prescription bottles, and labels

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor when speaking with clients; remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Excellent organizational and detail‑oriented skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated customer service experience; strong motivation to succeed

Positive, cooperative, and team‑oriented attitude

Experience with KROLL and/or Pacmed is an asset

Location
This onsite role is located at 10748 74 St. SE, AB (Calgary pharmacy). It is a 12‑month contract position with a five‑day workweek and participation in an on‑call rotation for weekends.

All applicants must successfully pass satisfactory background screening, including but not limited to Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, Driver’s Abstract, Education Verification, and Current Professional Registration. Background screening will be completed after an offer of employment has been extended and accepted.
