The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Utilize highly developed behavioural intervention skills to provide intensive support for the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans that facilitate the optimal functioning of individuals with complex needs.
- Train, assist, and mentor front-line staff to optimize their behavioural intervention skills and ensure consistency in support delivery.
- Provide support to individuals and their teams through advocacy, skill training, and community education.
- Report to the Complex Needs Coordinator and contribute to the overall direction and quality of the service area.
- Deliver direct, front-line support to high-risk individuals with complex behavioural needs as part of your combined role.
- Document and maintain accurate client records, case notes, and reports in accordance with organizational standards.
- Provide de-escalation support and crisis management as needed.
- A diploma in a human services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Disability Studies, etc.) or a degree in any discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
- Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges (e.g., dual diagnosis, complex needs, high-risk youth).
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Own vehicle with a valid Class 5 Driver s License is required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
This is a combined frontline and leadership role, and compensation reflects both functions:
- Team Lead hours: $29.64 per hour to start.
- Direct Support hours: $24.07 – $25.03 per hour to start.
