The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the x‑ray and laboratory, utilizing critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities. You may work day and evening shifts, including weekdays, weekends and on‑call as assigned.

As a Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging, typically at rural sites.
Your responsibilities include:
- Collecting and analyzing biological specimens
- Conducting X‑ray examinations, ECGs
- Preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture
- Maintaining routine equipment and supplies
- Performing quality control procedures
- Reporting results
- Providing bench duties and specimen handling/manipulation
- Working independently and as part of an inter‑professional team
Employees shall maintain confidentiality of all APL / AHS information in accordance with HIA, FOIP and other privacy legislation in effect and shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’ information privacy and information security policies.
Required Qualifications- Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technology (CLXT)
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X‑ray Technologists (ACCLXT)
- Current BCLS‑HCP certification
- Proven ability to work within a computer‑based environment using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated proficiency in core laboratory theory: hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen procurement and handling, and transfusion medicine
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologist within a rural hospital facility
- Connect Care Epic training and experience
