Join Alberta's Tomorrow Project as a Laboratory Assistant I in the STRIDE centre. Contribute to groundbreaking cancer research by collecting and processing biosamples from participants.
This casual role offers weekday shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Reporting to the Research Operations Lead, you will handle biosample collection, data entry, and laboratory functions to support active research studies. Your contribution is vital in enhancing the understanding of cancer and chronic disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and process biosamples from ATP participants
• Perform basic lab tests and specimen sorting
• Clean and sanitize laboratory equipment
• Assist with data entry and patient queries
• Contribute to biobank tasks and operations
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Medical Laboratory Assistant program certification with phlebotomy experience
• Experience handling dry ice safely
• TDG certification
• WHMIS training preferred
