Position: Laboratory Assistant I

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in a high-volume hub laboratory (within the last year preferred), including Chemistry and/or Urinalysis department experience. Experience with inventory management. Knowledge of Roche pre-analytical automation and/or urinalysis analyzers is an asset. Working knowledge of Infinity middleware and Epic LIS preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
