Speech Language Pathologist Assistant KDFN

This position offers practical experience assisting Speech and Language Pathologists in fostering communication and literacy skills among students from kindergarten to grade 12. Collaborate effectively with educators, families, and Elders to deliver tailored activities and materials that respect KDFN values. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a diploma program related to Speech and Language Pathology Assistant studies while interested in community-driven support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering individualized and group therapy activities

• Prepare culturally responsive educational materials

• Collaborate with educators and community members for support

• Support communication and language development in students

• Participate in training opportunities to enhance skills

Requirements:

• Certificate/Diploma in relevant studies required

• Coursework in child development or Indigenous studies is an asset

• Experience in case management services considered beneficial

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history advantageous
