Registered Respiratory Therapist at RVH

Join Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, specializing in acute care with a focus on critical patient groups. Support dynamic care in the ICU and other key units.

The Allied Health Services team at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is looking for a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to enhance patient-centered care in various acute settings, including the ICU and Critical Care Unit. You will engage in evidence-informed practices to optimize respiratory care, manage ventilation strategies, and participate in critical assessments and interventions for high-risk patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage mechanically ventilated patients' care

• Assess and modify mechanical ventilation settings

• Perform intubation and airway management

• Administer respiratory medications via MDI

• Conduct arterial punctures and manage tracheostomy care

Requirements:

• Valid registration with the Ontario College of Respiratory Therapists

• Current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications

• Critical care experience is highly preferred

• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Commitment to collaborative team practice
