Care Provider in Respite Services

Help enhance the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities as an Out-of-Home Respite Provider with Calgary Alternative Support Services. Provide client-centered support tailored to individual needs.

This contractor role focuses on delivering crucial assistance to clients, helping them meet the goals set forth in their Individual Support Plans (ISP). You will create a safe and enriching home environment while allowing primary caregivers to take essential breaks in their caregiving responsibilities, promoting well-being among families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized support within client homes

• Assist in achieving objectives from Individual Support Plans

• Offer weekend or vacation care to relieve primary caregivers

• Assess the adequacy and safety of homes for care

• Align support strategies with client needs and preferences

Requirements:

• Familiarity with developmental disabilities is a preference

• Completion of Disability Studies diploma or equivalent necessary

• Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required

• Basic First Aid certification is mandatory

• Access to a vehicle is beneficial
