Therapeutic Recreation Aide Role

Help enhance the quality of life for seniors as a Recreation Therapy Aide with Age Care. This position involves direct interaction with residents to deliver personalized recreational support.

As part of the dynamic team reporting to the Recreation Manager, you’ll work on the assessment and planning of therapeutic programs. Your key tasks will involve ensuring recreational activities are executed correctly, communicating any changes to goals, and maintaining regular inventory of supplies. This role requires energy and initiative in meeting the diverse needs of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess residents’ Leisure Lifestyle goals

• Communicate revisions of goals to staff promptly

• Assist with the implementation of therapeutic recreation programs

• Drive residents to offsite activities as needed

• Help plan the monthly recreation schedule

Requirements:

• RTA certificate or diploma preferred

• Must possess or obtain a Class 4 Drivers License

• CPR & First Aid training advantageous

• Strong organizational skills with a high-energy approach

• Fluent in English, both speaking and writing
