Recreation Therapist Position

Position: Recreation Therapist Position at County of Simcoe
Make a difference as a Recreation Therapist at the County of Simcoe, dedicated to enhancing resident programming and care. Bring your expertise in therapeutic recreation to support the well-being of our seniors.

As a valued member of the Long Term Care and Seniors Services, you will assess and implement individualized programs while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.

Your role focuses on maintaining resident safety and compliance with health legislation, ensuring high-quality therapeutic experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and plan resident programming using best practices

• Communicate effectively with the care team and community partners

• Complete care plans and assessments as required

• Support residents’ council, volunteers, and students

• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Recreation Therapy or related fields

• Valid Ontario driver’s licenses (G and

F)

• One year of experience as an Activationist or Recreation Therapist

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
