FASD Clinic Coordinator Position (40hours/week) ENVIROS – Who We Are

NDC is Enviros’ Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Diagnostic and Assessment Clinic for both children and adults. Enviros NDC is the only FASD clinic in Southern Alberta completing assessments for the Calgary Youth Courts. Our multidisciplinary team delivers comprehensive FASD assessments, diagnostic services, and follow-up support, helping individuals and families better understand FASD and transition to long‑term, meaningful supports.

Enviros NDC is recognized nationally for innovation and excellence in improving outcomes for individuals with FASD.

The Clinic Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating FASD assessments, managing intake processes and writing FASD assessment reports with collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary Clinical Team (which includes a psychologist, physician and social worker). The Clinic Coordinator will also assist, along with the Clinical Team, in providing recommendations to individuals who have been recently diagnosed with FASD to better understand their unique strengths and provide individualized referrals to support some of their complex needs.

The Coordinator, along with the Supervisor and Manager, will promote strong community partnerships; including collaboration with the Justice sector. As well as participate in ongoing training to achieve a solid level of understanding of the FASD assessment and diagnostic processes, the most recent Canadian guidelines and recommended FASD clinic best practices.

• Acts as the first point of contact for individuals as they enter the diagnostic process
• Process and procedures for clinic
• Work with clients and/or families to ensure all supporting documentation is completed
• Supports and interacts with individuals and/or families in a way that incorporates their needs, perspective, preference and experience.
• Educates individuals and /or families on the diagnostic process and what to expect at each appointment; assist the individuals and/or families in getting to each appointment
• Manage intake processes
• Coordination of referrals
• Consult with relevant professionals in collecting data for assessment- including court assessments
• Work closely with clinicians on team
• Conduct intake and interview of clients, family and biological mother’s (including clarification of expectations, obtaining relevant family, social, educational history, and prenatal alcohol history as required, description of current concerns)
• Facilitate completion of standardized questionnaires
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary team assessments
• Educate social service providers in the referral and assessment process for FASD
• Communicate best practice strategies based on assessment results
• Collaborate with community and intersect oral groups and assist with community capacity building for pre and post assessment education and support
• Create and deliver presentations to stakeholders regarding FASD and best practice
• Submit data for reports as required
• Maintain training standards as required
• Write FASD assessment reports in collaboration with the Clinical Team
