Reporting to the Director of Care, the Recreation Therapist provides vital therapeutic recreation services to meet the psycho-social needs of clients. You will assess recreation needs, develop treatment plans, and coordinate engaging programs and activities. Additionally, supervision and evaluation of support staff, students, and volunteers are part of your responsibilities, ensuring adherence to Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess recreation and leisure needs of clients

• Develop tailored treatment plans and activities

• Coordinate therapeutic programs for clients

• Supervise and evaluate support staff and volunteers

• Maintain professional and ethical standards throughout

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field

• Active registration with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist designation preferred

• Basic Life Support Provider CPR certification required

• 3 years of relevant recreation therapy experience preferred
