As a Health Information Management Professional I, you will review clinical documentation and code diagnoses and interventions to maintain high data integrity and reliability.
Your role includes participating in data quality initiatives and ensuring workflow efficiencies align with provincial guidelines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy
• Apply diagnoses and interventions using ICD-10-CA/CCI
• Remediate edits and coding warnings promptly
• Identify and escalate issues related to coding and documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of Alberta Health Services' information
Requirements:
• Diploma from an accredited HIMP program
• Eligible for registration with CHIMA
• Knowledge of Canadian Coding Standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Minimum 1-year coding experience preferred
