Therapeutic Recreation Aide Role

Become a Therapeutic Recreation Aide at Age Care, where you'll help enhance residents' quality of life. Focus on planning and executing therapeutic recreation programs tailored to individual needs.

Reporting directly to the Recreation Manager, you will assist in evaluating and implementing recreation therapy programs.

Your role will emphasize teamwork, respect, and dignity, ensuring that each resident's goals are prioritized. You'll actively engage residents in activities while documenting their participation and progress, fostering a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in identifying individual Leisure Lifestyle goals

• Communicate necessary revisions to program goals

• Ensure recreational activities align with resident needs

• Transport residents to community events safely

• Support the development of the monthly Recreation Calendar

Requirements:

• RTA certificate or diploma is mandatory

• Class 4 Driver's License must be obtained

• Heart saver CPR & First Aid are assets

• Experience in Recreation Therapy is preferred

• Demonstrate strong organization and interpersonal skills
