AgeCare Recreation Therapist

Position: AgeCare Recreation Therapist Role
Focus on enhancing residents' lives as a Recreation Therapist at Age Care in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time temporary role is key for improving health through engaging activities.

Age Care is looking for a dedicated Recreation Therapist to assess and implement recreation therapy for residents. You'll identify individual needs and work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to create meaningful experiences. This position also includes supporting Recreation Therapy Aides and documenting participants' progress in therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and plan recreation activities based on resident needs

• Develop personalized treatment plans and goals

• Lead individual and group therapeutic recreation sessions

• Document assessments and resident progress

• Collaborate with team members to enhance program effectiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy

• Eligible for Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association registration

• Previous experience in health care preferred

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with gerontology beneficial
